Kira Melnikova
Kira Melnikova is a Dubai based visual artist, currently working between two regions - the Middle East and Russia. She is getting involved in the creation of some projects and competitions that both regions handle. Her focus is on the traditional way of seeing art that is exhibited through the two - dimensional form.
Melnikova works on a series of paintings that focus on the Isolation of human beings and public places. During her trips to various places all around the world, she tries to discover the most abandoned areas and at the same time the most public ones. The idea of something that was so popular and most visited and later on became abandoned grabs the artist’s attention. For reaching out to the conclusion and doing her research, Melnikova reaches through the psychology and sociology concepts that provide some new concepts and ideas.
