Dark Room.

Darkroom photography is the process of handling and printing film or negatives in a room with less light or no light at all. The room is called the darkroom. This type of photography leads to an understanding of the complexity of an image and how it is created. It exposes how creating a photograph is a thoughtful process that involves knowledge of camera settings, composition, lighting, and more. Dark Room was one of the first projects in Melnikova’s career that leads to her projects till today. It is one of the first steps for Melnikova to begin her piece whether it is a drawing, painting, or any other form of art. In Dark Room, she creates prints that are unique from one to another, and cannot be repeated due to the sensitivity of light and paper that are being used during the process.
